Sydney, NSW -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/08/2015 -- Gilmore Girls was one of the most popular TV shows in the world when it debuted in 2000, and ran for seven successful seasons until 2007, winning an Emmy and being nominated for several more high profile awards. Thanks to its fast paced dialogue and colorful characters the show earned a loyal following, many of whom still hope for a continuation of the series with a feature film. Rumors recently surfaced that pre-production might be starting on such a venture. Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham were addressed for comment after the successful TV show Veronica Mars scored a movie production after successfully being funded through Kickstarter. The stars have said they will be on board for a film if original creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is involved in the production, but she has made no mention of the film.

The rumor mill does seem to be churning into overdrive right now however and there is rarely smoke without fire, so fans should check back regularly for new information.
