About Cookie Johnson
Cookie Johnson is a devoted philanthropist, child advocate and spokesperson for women's health. She serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Magic Johnson Foundation. She addresses the health, social and educational needs of those residing in underserved communities and is involved in the development of the Foundation's overall goals, objectives and programs. Cookie joins her husband Earvin "Magic" Johnson in the fight against HIV/AIDS by speaking to women's groups, at community events, local schools, etc. to help reduce new HIV infections in underserved communities by educating minority women about the disease and providing helpful tools for prevention and testing. Cookie served as a 2013 Ambassador for Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. She used her platform to encourage people across the country to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS and raise awareness of its impact on women and girls.
Cookie was honored by the Mother Hale Foundation in 2005 and was the recipient of the 36th Mother Hale Award. In 2006, she received the Community Service Award from the Hollywood NAACP. In 2012, Cookie received the Rising Star of the Year Award from National Association of Women Business Owners Los Angeles (NAWBOLA) and honored by Team HEAL Foundation receiving the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2013, Cookie was honored by the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) and was the recipient of the Global Advocate Award and honored by The LadyLike Foundation where she received the Women of Excellence award.
