The STR3EM Team Announces Licensing Program for Access-Anywhere Digital Media Technology

Astoria, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/05/2010 -- The STR3EM Team announces a joint licensing program for the STR3EM software development kit (SDK) and the PDMAS specifications for developers delivering access-anywhere consumer electronic products. The SDK provides a Java application library that offer processing of the STR3EM binary formats for web streaming providers and custom applications. PDMAS offers a set of published patent pending specifications for electronic media developers to implement the features of STR3EM in their emerging ecosystem designs comprising:

1) The PDMAS access-anywhere verification and authentication module;
2) The PDMAS split-payments module, and;
3) The PDMAS optical disc to digital rights conversion module.

Adding to the availability of the free STR3EM Windows player and authoring tools, the SDK allows developers to easily configure custom hardware to accept the electronic distribution of commercial HD video, high-resolution audio, and video game products in a single file. Exclusive to the SDK is a device profile that can facilitate the delivery of full DVD, Blu-ray, and video game console ISO disc images. The SDK is compatible with the hardware specifications of current Blu-ray players and video game consoles that are able to receive firmware and system updates through the Internet or a USB port.

A new wave of digital product ownership is introduced by replacing a physical disc with a serial key, which never expires, connected to the delivery file. Developers can sync user rights in order to obtain infinite access to products through an expansive digital locker comprising BitTorrent, CDNs, and subscription streaming providers. Users can download and access their products at any time - by using their access token and user authentication - to help them with recovery after a computer disaster or with the purchase of a new machine.

User authentication for the SDK is powered by Facebook® Connect. Developers can offer consumers access to their files on any machine with the integrated SDK and Facebook API. Registration of products, access keys, and family access can be used as a standalone solution or synced with other digital content ecosystems.

“With applications ranging from movies, music, and games, we are delivering a very disruptive technology to meet a more disruptive demand for commercial electronic delivery,” said William Grecia, founder and chief executive officer. “We can't expect consumers to pay for watered down electronic entertainment playable on only a few machines which are sold at the same prices as physical media. Our SDK will allow manufactures to update their current products to accept our formats and other ecosystems can be synced to give consumers the features they're looking for. People want similar usability as found with physical media such as unlimited machine access and sharing with family members. We don't want to just attract buyers, we want to convert the future of entertainment purchasing into lifelong investments.”
