According to the New York Times, the holiday show Radio City Christmas Spectacular premiered earlier than usual this year and has started its nationwide journey in 25 cities. As per the show organizers, they decided to kick off the holiday season early so that more cities could be covered.
Carlsbad, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/03/2010 -- In its report on the holiday events, the New York Times stated that New York City witnessed an early curtain rising on the annual show, Radio City Christmas Spectacular. After kicking off the holiday season in style, the show has embarked on a nationwide tour and will be visiting 25 cities.
Radio City Christmas Spectacular director Dennis Callahan stated, “We wanted to cover as many cities as possible and decided to start the show early this year.
Performances will be held in 25 cities, last one taking place on the 30th December.” He further said, “The creative team always tries to bring new talent and this year the fans will be seeing many new faces in the Rockettes.”
Teresa Burks, the newest member of the dancing troupe the Rockettes states in an interview with the media, “I always wanted to perform with the Rockettes and it’s finally a dream come true”. Her sentiments were echoed by another new dancer, Corinne Tighe. She said, “Rockettes is a slice of American history. Since its first performance in 1933, the troupe has welcomed dancers from various backgrounds”.
The show’s schedule is posted on the official website and Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Boston will mark one of the earlier shows. It will be followed by Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Nashville and Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Salt Lake City. Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Denver will be one of the last performances.
