South Whitley, IN -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/19/2011 -- It’s a contest that’s taken computers, laptops and smartphones of high school students across America by storm. Stumps Prom & Party’s 3rd Annual Proms Across America Contest officially reached 1 million votes today. The 1 million vote mark comes a full two weeks earlier than last year, indicating students, teachers and parents are striving to make their 2011 high school proms bigger and better than ever.

Three grand-prize winning schools will receive a $5,000 Stumps gift certificate, deejay expenses paid up to $1,000, and royalty items for the entire prom court. One school from each of the fifty U.S. states with the most votes in their state will each win a $1,000 Stumps gift certificate. In addition, Stumps has expanded the prize list for this year’s contest so that any school can instantly win prizes just for reaching preset voting plateaus.

Stumps Prom & Party sells the personalized invitations, theme decorations, custom favors, fancy table settings, and royalty items schools need to create a memorable prom night. “We realize that economic stressors continue to pinch many school prom budgets,” says Keith Bansemer, Stumps Director of Internet Marketing. “We appreciate the loyalty schools have shown to Stumps through the decades and, of course, we enjoy hearing gasps of teenage joy when students see their decorated proms!”

Students can enter their school and cast votes at http://www.stumpsparty.com/freeprom. Contest registration and voting ends March 16, 2011. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter and $100,000 in prizes awarded.
