Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/26/2011 -- Globally renowned Dutch beer Heineken is marketed on its simplicity. One of the groups key slogans is "It's all about the beer". But it seems that in the days of digital guerrilla marketing and multi-faceted, personalised promotions, being all about the beer isn't quite enough.
Heineken is hoping to win over many of Facebook's millions of users with a new campaign which will give Heineken fans the chance to purchase promotional gifts and branded goods.
Not only that, but Heineken is letting its Facebook fans – one million in all – decide what promotional gifts the company will sell.
Speaking to Marketing Magazine, Floris Cobelens, manager of global digital media at the international brewer, asked:
"Why not give them the chance to decide what they want to buy?"
At 4imprint, we think that Heineken are onto a winner. They are using promotional gifts in conjunction with the biggest internet phenomenon since the advent of email to get branded promotional gifts into people's homes.
