Program inspires photographers to take their business “to the next level”.
Plano, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/31/2011 -- Larry Lourcey, an award-winning portrait artist from Plano, Texas, will deliver his program, “Taking Mom and Pop To The Next Level” at the Professional Photographers of South Carolina’s annual convention. The program will take place Monday, February 7th at the Embassy Suites in Columbia, SC.
Known for his unique ability to tell stories with his images, Lourcey dedicates a great deal of his time to helping fellow photographers improve their craft. “When I first started out as a photographer, I had TONS of questions,” says Lourcey. “There were many great photographers who helped answer them and I’m more than happy to give back to the industry.”
His program focuses on the need for smaller “Mom and Pop” businesses to upgrade their image and compete with the big studios. “No matter where you are in your photographic journey, there is always room to grow.” he says. “My hope is to point people in the right direction and give them the tools to improve their artistic and business abilities.”
Lourcey holds the designation of Master Photographer, awarded by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in 2007. He served as a juror in 2008 for several state conventions and has been awarded numerous awards for his work. Several of Larry’s images have been selected for the prestigious PPA Loan Collection, including an image displayed at Imaging Asia in 2005.
While Lourcey is most recognized for his black and white photography, the breadth of his work includes vibrant photo paintings, Polaroid transfers, and photographic collages. Lourcey derives his inspiration from master painters like John Singer Sargent and Edgar Degas, while embracing the bold styles of more modern greats; such as Pino Daeni.
