Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/22/2011 -- A newly-released publication Crop Protection China News by CCM reveals that Nantong Jiangshan is taking active action on the glyphosate anti-dumping investigation initiated by Brazil.
Brazil government declared that the imposed anti-dumping duty on all glyphosate imports from China could no longer balance the damages brought to glyphosate manufacturers in Brazil. Aiming to protect the interests of domestic glyphosate players, Brazil government decided to launch anti-dumping mid-term review investigation on glyphosate originated from China.
Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals Co., Ltd. (Nantong Jiangshan), the second largest glyphosate player in China, announced on 4 June 2011 that the company is busy collecting data to decide whether to be inspected or not. In fact, if Nantong Jiangshan agrees to be inspected, it would likely to face a higher tax rate; if it declines, it may have to exit the Brazilian market.
The rising anti-dumping tax rate of glyphosate will have a negative impact on the overseas business of Nantong Jiangshan. It is estimated that export volume of glyphosate to Brazil will decline greatly. How to deal with the imposed anti-dumping duty from Brazil is quite a challenge for Nantong Jiangshan.
