Retired Educator, Mary Lee Kendal, launches three whimsical Dr. Seuss style rhyming books.
Naples, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/20/2018 -- The books, A Pig in a Wig, The Goat on a Boat and Why Can't I? are three short rhyming stories for children between the ages of 3 to 7. Kendal employs Dr. Seuss's signature rhyming style while skillfully addressing topics of bullying and self-esteem. The books feature whimsical illustrations and fun rhymes that will engage readers' interest from start to finish.
A Pig in a Wig, The Goat on a Boat and Why Can't I? are Kendal's debut children's books. Questioned about the motivation to write the books, she explained: "As a child, I was always encouraged by my parents to write, read, rhyme, play, act, sing, dance, and be as creative as possible. While I was teaching in the public school, I felt as though many students felt stifled. Kids want to learn. They crave knowledge. But being taught traditionally does not work for all of them. Children need to write, read, create, imagine, draw and dream. So if one of my social stories can help one child overcome shyness, or handle bullying or understand it's okay to be different, then I have done what I have set out to do."
Kendal's books are fun and are designed to be read aloud with an adult and a child bringing the bond between each other even closer. The books feature simple words that also encourage children to read for themselves.
