The new UK speeding fine laws have now been put into place to ensure that the most serious speeding offenders will have 50% higher fines. This came into place on April 24th 2017.
Great Harwood, Lancashire -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/18/2017 -- Drivers who get caught speeding far in excess of the speed limit will now face more severe fines, starting from 150% of their weekly salary. The minimum fine for serious offences used to lay at 100%.
The new fines only apply to Band C sentences. Band A and Band B speeding fines are going to remain the same for the time being, although people within these categories can still expect to see fines of up to 125% of their weekly income.
