Rishton, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/28/2015 -- It's a well-known fact that sitting down for long periods of time is not good for your health. In 2015, the amount of office-based jobs has become more common as businesses go online and require people to operate more sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen.
According to a study released by The British Chiropractic Association (BCA), a huge 82% of men were found to be suffering from back pain, which many blamed poor seating support as the cause when working for long hours at a desk. The study involved 2127 individuals, and the percentage found to be suffering is considerably higher than last year.
The study also shows that men are suffering from back pain (a condition normally associated with older people) earlier on in their lives. Improvements in office furniture for employees who work long hours could be the solution. Back pain is one of the most debilitating pains that can affect quality of life, which is most commonly caused by bad posture and lazy muscles.
With sedentary lifestyles on the increase, it's important for workplaces to react to the changes and invest in good quality, health improving furniture. Unsupportive seating resulting in back pain will only further the amount of time employees have to take off work due to ill health or hospital appointments. This in turn will adversely affect a business's productivity levels.
