Sander Den Hoedt Seeks Crowdfunding via Kickstarter for Balanz: A New Type of Serving Spoon

Balanz is the serving spoon that works with everyone in any culinary setting.

Delft, Netherlands -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/11/2014 -- Balanz is a new type of serving spoon. With its unique movable core, it never falls out of the pan while cooking. Since the blade tilts up when laid flat, it keeps any kitchen counter uncluttered. Thanks to its magnetic core it can be put almost anywhere in a kitchen.

Central to the concept of the Balanz is the fact that the spoon has a hollow core containing a bearing that rolls forwards or backwards depending on the position of the Balanz. The weight is at the front when placed at an angle and at the back when laid flat. This way the spoon stays in a pan while keeping the kitchen counter as clean as it should be.

The main innovation of the Balanz lies in the movable weight in the core. However, Sander and his design team have also taken the opportunity to completely re-design the serving spoon itself.

That’s because the Balanz is designed to work in every situation from cooking to serving keeping the kitchen and the dining room clean. With all of this attention to detail it goes without saying that the Balanz is dishwasher safe. The square handle insures a confident grip without any concern for twisting or slipping even if the cook’s hands are slippery from working the stove. The consideration to a sensible design extends to a single mould method in production eliminating any lines or edges where food – and therefore germs – can collect and grow.

The Balanz is environmentally friendly as well. All of the plastic is biodegradable, and the hollow core means that the spoon uses 70% less plastic than conventional spoons.

About Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is sought to take the Balanz from the conceptual phase to mass production. In order to produce the Balanz at full scale, an injection mould is needed. Sufficient demand therefore needs to be established and paid to offset the costs of making the injections moulds.

If successfully funded, backers of this crowdfunding project can get their own Balanz serving spoon for just a few dollars. Other perks include customized versions of the Balanz and a stand that shows off the spoon in your kitchen.

This crowdfunding campaign ends on December 4, 2014.
