The International Design Awards is pleased to announce the professional and emerging designers of the year for 2010.

N summer 10 (Katarzyna Nizinkiewicz); Graphic Design of the Year, The Royal Wedding (Love for Art & Business); Interior Design of the Year, Leo Burnett (Ministry of Design); Product Design of the Year, Herman Miller SAYL Chair (fuseproject). The 2010 emerging designs of the year are as follows; Architectural Design of the Year, Bus Terminal, Beijing (Yashin); Fashion Design of the Year, Morphology Vision (Si Kim/ Morpholision); Graphic Design of the Year, Nature’s Fresh Colour (Blue Coin Design Loft LLP); Interior Design of the Year, Making 5 different functional (UCO); Product Design of the Year, Edge Desk (AMV-Design).
Returning jurors Josh Rubin (founder, Cool Hunting), Hans Fonk (Editor-in-Chief, OBJEKT International) and Lise Coirier (Editor-in-Chief, TL) joined Aaron Kenedi (Editor-in-Chief, Print), William Menking (Editor-in-Chief, The Architect’s Newspaper), and Alice Blackwood (Editor-in-Chief, Design Quarterly), among others, on this year’s jury panel.
The IDA competitions of years past have been extremely successful and the organization continues to grow. Hossein Farmani of Farmani Group commented, “We doubled our entries this year, not only in the US, but in Asia and Europe as well.” To date, designers from over 76 countries (on six continents) have submitted their work for consideration.
The awards ceremony and reception will take place on Sunday May 15th, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm at dTank in Burbank, California, and will receive an expected crowd of about 300 guests, including competition winners, notable designers and design enthusiasts.
