Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/02/2015 -- Fitness Life Stories, a web center full of information for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts, will cover the first annual Vegan Pizza Competition hosted by Scott Tucker. The Philadelphia area pizza shops will start formulating pizza recipes this fall for the winter competition December 5th.

"There are a lot of vegan athletes out there who are building muscle with plant based diets," says Jane Veep, writer for Fitness Life Stories. "We will cover this event with one of our vegan staff members and a photographer to sample and capture all of the fun. It's great that more events like this are coming together, it helps the vegan community get to know one another and gives everybody more options."

The competition will feature 10 pizza companies which must have a currently open shop in the greater Philadelphia area. The judges of the contest will be non-participating chefs from the same area. Each pizza entered must meet the vegan ingredient qualification and provide a detailed ingredient list for judges to privately inspect.

"I'm really excited about this new contest, it's kind of my baby I've been working on it for so long," says Tucker. "When I first thought of the idea, I assumed it wouldn't be necessary because there are already so many pizza contests in the area. But this one is different, this contest is personal because I'm a vegan and I want to see the best rise to the top and get the recognition the deserve."

The contest will be open to the public for free, with a limit of 200 tickets available to attend the pizza tasting hours. The event will close at 8pm with the judges award ceremony, hosted by Tucker, with awards going to crowd favorite and judges top three selections.
