Barbeque Downs, South Africa -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/16/2015 -- According to latest data from professional networking giant LinkedIn, more professionals are entering South Africa than leaving, leading to new business opportunities and event prospecting opportunities.
In the Linkedin top 20 professional migration countries, South Africa came in a respective sixth, after Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Germany. The number one country is United Arab Emirates.
Highlighting South Africa specifically, the data revealed that 0.26% more professionals arrived than left between January and December 2014, 0.5% up from the previous survey of the period from November 2012 to November 2013.
Much-needed science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem) skills make up nearly half the list of career traits in people migrating internationally, while other notable skillsets considered most valuable include foreign language translation, business consulting and life sciences.
Commenting on the results, Luis de Souza said: "The LinkedIn stats demonstrate how South Africa is fast becoming a most attractive business destination and companies are quickly embracing the opportunities to recruit skilled professionals entering the country.
