Lubbock, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/31/2015 -- Imagine being able to transcend space and time. Imagine walking the line between life and death; passing through physical objects as a ghost. Imagine traveling back in time to cooperate with your past self. Independent game developers Brian Colón and Chris Nazario of Tent-Maker Games are attempting to bring these experiences to life in a new video game called Transcend, but they need help to make the game a reality. They are running a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough funds to bring this project through the last year of development.
Transcend is a puzzle platformer game with a truly unique gameplay mechanic. The player has the ability to die and exist as a ghost and then resurrect. Whether the player is dead or alive effects how he/she interacts with the environment. While the player is a ghost, he/she will be able to pass through solid objects but will collide with objects in the spirit realm. While the player is alive, he/she will pass through objects in the spirit realm but collide with solid objects.
The game will have another unique gameplay mechanic in which the player will have the ability to travel back in time and cooperate with his/her past self. This means that the player will initially be required to anticipate him/herself coming back to the present time from the future, and then later going back to the past to interact with his/her past self who will be anticipating his/her movements. This might seem confusing (most time-travel stories are), but Brian explains it rather well in his Kickstarter pitch.
The team is setting an initial goal of $50,000 in order to allow one of them to work on the project full time. They are however, hoping to surpass that goal so that both of them can work on the game full time thus ensuring a higher quality end product.
Provided the Kickstarter goal gets met, the game is expected to take one more year to complete. Backers of the Kickstarter, however, will have early access. The team is offering access to the beta for only $25. They are also allowing access to the alpha for $75. Early access to the complete game is being offered for $10.
They are also offering some amazing premium rewards as well. These include having the backer's likeness as an NPC or even as the main character in the game. Also, rather than simply putting the backers' names in the credits that nobody reads, the team is planning on having the names of the backers spray-painted on walls in the game.
Lots of work has already gone into this game and the team is hoping to be able to bring it to completion soon. For more information check out their Kickstarter page.
