Boulder, CO -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/15/2014 -- Here’s the problem: A great majority of high school and college students don’t really know what they want to do, and wind up in a career path for which they are unsuited.

Here are the facts:

- Nearly half of college students never graduate.
- Of those who do graduate, only 50 percent get a job that requires their degree.
- Sixty-one percent of business decision makers give colleges and universities a grade of “C” or lower on preparing recent college graduates for their jobs.

Sheri Smith of Boulder, Colo., believes that she and her colleagues have the answer to this dilemma. They have developed the Indigo Project, in collaboration with TTI Success Insights, to provide an assessment system that measures motivation, strengths and skills specific to an individual. Indigo then matches this evaluation to an extensive database of higher-education programs and, when appropriate, potential employers.
