It's a brand new season for baseball in NYC's Queens Citi Field -- which means, Mets baseball, Cracker Jacks and of course spirited ghosts in Queens Flushing Meadows Park rooting for their favorite team so says New York's own Ghost Doctors.
New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/28/2017 -- When two of NYC's noted paranormal investigators say they are feeling a little spring fever for baseball it could only mean one thing -- hunting for spirits around Queens Flushing Meadows Park, the home of the New York Mets. The Ghost Doctors (aka Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) have been exploring the areas around Citi Field Stadium and Flushing Meadows, which was once the home of the old Shea Stadium -- looking for signs of baseball loving spirits.
"Shea Stadium opened back in 1964 and was torn down in 2009 to make room for Citi Field, says Dr. Stew. "During this time, Shea Stadium a fixture of Queens Flushing Meadows Park was an integral part of our history and that's the reason we became interested in investigating this area."
The Ghost Doctors have been searching this "Field of Dreams" and may have found some signs of paranormal activity. Since the old Shea Stadium was not only the home of the Miracle 69 New York Mets but for a short time The Yankees, Giants and Jets, also called this area of Queens their home. And this may be one of the reasons for some ghostly spirits still residing in this area.
"Back in 1975 all of New York's baseball and football teams played out of Shea, so historically for one season this area was New York's epicenter of sports," says Dr. Pete.
In fact, the Ghost Doctors can be frequently seen leading ghost hunts through Flushing Meadows Park accompanied by groups of amateur ghost hunters in training on actual investigations. With equipment in hand, like something out of one of those paranormal television shows, they trek through this historic area for signs of baseball loving spirits longing to be heard cheering "Lets Go Mets."
