East Sussex, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/20/2017 -- Owner Neil Peskett and his committed team helped secure a Gold Medal for designers Paula Napper, Sara Warren and Donna King, by supplying the reclaimed oak used to create the Lavender Garden, part of the "Summer Gardens" category.
As the summer garden season approaches, Traditional Oak & Timber Company are now keen to help other designers trying to secure that elusive Gold Medal.
Established in 1990, the Traditional Oak & Timber Company was set up to meet the increasing demand for quality reclaimed oak beams. The local company, based in Sheffield Park, East Sussex, has one of the largest stock of reclaimed and air-dried beams in the UK, which can be used for construction, renovation and bespoke furniture — and, of course, in award-winning garden designs.
Neil says, "We were delighted to be approached to supply the reclaimed oak to build the design. The garden was designed to depict rows of lavender in a field. The designers envisioned a circular walkway enclosing a sunken seating area, leading to a rustic tin-roofed pergola"
Neil worked hard to source the traditional oak for The Lavender Garden. "To create the pergola and fences, we used reclaimed oak beams, which we split with traditional hand methods. Although not our specialty we were also very pleased to help the designers locate some weathered corrugated iron for the roof of the pergola. It had been stored standing and had vertical rust streaks that made a perfect design feature!"
For those looking to enter this year's garden shows, Traditional Oak & Timber Company are available to bring your design to life, and to the Winners' Podium.
