Young Film Academy Launches Halloween Film in a Day Opportunity to Young Filmmakers in October

Young Film Academy is offering young people who hope to become filmmakers the opportunity to shoot a film in a day on October 24th in Putney, south west London.

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2015 -- Filmmaking is an incredibly complex process that requires the team efforts of a whole range of experts. The camera requires a loader, a focus-puller and an operator, while the scene it captures requires a director of photography to light it, actors to play it and a director to take care of the storytelling, with a sound operator to capture that. Such an overwhelming process is nevertheless the ambition of many young people who fall in love with movies at an early age, and the Young Film Academy is offering young people the chance to be a part of that process by making a film in a single day.

The Make A Film In A Day course on 24th October covers the whole film making process, from coming up with an idea to planning where and how to shoot it, shooting the film and then editing it in post production. Boiling down film making to its core components, young people get a firm idea of how to plan, shoot, produce and edit their films, with a screening of the finished films for parents at the end of the day.

Each participant receives a copy of their completed film to keep, giving them a valuable portfolio piece and an invaluable experience working with professional film making equipment. The course, held at St Mary's church in Putney, will be Halloween themed to mark the coming holiday.

A spokesperson for http://www.youngfilmacademy.co.uk explained, "We can't wait to help people understand the elements of filmic storytelling using one of the most potent genres for making bold choices- horror. We will help our young filmmakers create suspense, play tricks on the audience and create spectacular spooks using music and sound effects, showing people how all elements come together to create the magic of film."
